In July I spent a week in Toronto and there was one place I knew I absolutely had to visit while I was there – Niagara Falls! This beautiful gem is located about an hour and a half outside of Toronto and can be seen from both the US and Canada.
I rode up to Niagara Falls with a tour group and we had a great driver who pointed out local spots as we headed into Niagara Falls. When we got there we were dropped off at the entrance of the Falls. At the base of the visitors center there are areas that allow you to see all three falls – American Falls, Bridal Veil Falls and Horseshoe Falls from afar.
To get a very up close to the waterfalls (three in total) take one of the boats that offer one of a kind photo ops. I toured Niagara Falls on a boat ride with the famous Hornblower Cruise. A tip for those of you riding on the boat – to avoid the crowds on the top of the deck, find a spot on the rear of the bottom of the boat. You will get the same view without the crowds.

To gain even closer access to the Horseshoe Falls my tour group headed to the Table Rock area to take the “Journey Behind the Falls” tour. This tour allows you to go 150 feet below to the base of the falls. From the bottom you can see the water falling from above, feel the strength of the water flowing, and hear the roar of the water dropping.

Niagara Falls is so beautiful and I am so happy I had the opportunity to visit.
